Sikalastic®-590 is a 1-component polyurethane-acrylic waterproofing coating, designed to form a seamless, elastic membrane with excellent resistance to UV, weathering, and ponding water. It is suitable for both new construction and roof refurbishment projects.

Application Conditions

Curing & Drying

Substrate Preparation

• Concrete must be:

  • ≥28 days cured

  • Pull-off strength ≥1.5 N/mm²

• Surface must be:

  • Clean, dry, sound

  • Free from dust, oil, grease

• Remove:

  • Weak concrete

  • Old coatings

• Repair cracks and voids before application

Application Method

Standard System

• Apply primer (diluted 10% water)

• Apply first coat

• Apply second coat after drying

Reinforced System

• Apply primer

• Apply first coat

• Embed Sika Reemat (overlap ≥5 cm)

• Apply additional coats

• Finish with top coat

Important Limitations

Do NOT use:

• On substrates with rising moisture

• On insulation boards directly

• In freezing or cold climate ponding conditions

• Where permanent water immersion occurs

Important Notes

• Protect from rain for at least 24 hours

• Apply during falling temperature to avoid pinholes

• Do not allow water ponding between coats

• This is an exposed system (not for tiling over)
