Joint Design

Surface Preparation

• Surface must be:

  • Clean

  • Dry

  • Sound

  • Free from oil, grease, dust

Primer / Treatment

• Normally no primer required

For high-performance applications:

• Non-porous → Aktivator-205

• Metals → Aktivator-205 + Primer-3 N

• PVC → Primer-215

• Glass → clean with isopropanol

• Porous → Primer-3 N

Application Method

• Apply masking tape (optional)

• Insert backing rod

• Prime if required

• Apply sealant with gun

• Ensure full contact with joint sides

• Avoid air entrapment

• Tool immediately

• Remove tape within skin time

Cleaning

• Tools → Sika® Remover-208

• Skin → Cleaning wipes

Limitations / Restrictions

Do NOT use:

• On concrete, plaster, masonry (alkaline surfaces)

• On natural stone, marble, granite

• On bituminous or rubber materials

• In swimming pools

• Under water pressure or immersion

• In confined spaces without airflow

• For structural glazing

• For food / medical use
